The line-up at forthcoming food hall Finn Hall continues to grow, and Korean barbecue, burgers, Mediterranean eats, and more will soon arrive in Downtown.
A representative for Finn Hall tells Eater that four brand new restaurants have all been added to the line-up, all of which will operate in a permanent location for the first time ever. “We want to be a food hall that houses established Houston concepts but also a place that can foster the growth of the next generation of culinary talent in the city,” says Finn Hall’s Greg Andrews. “We’re thrilled for Finn Hall to be the location where these concepts can develop and come to life.”
Scope out the details on each new restaurant below:
- Oddball Eats — A Mediterranean food truck with a focus on falafel. The popular food truck, operated by brother-sister duo Rani and Rene Francis, will serve dishes like shakshouka, lamb-chorizo fries, chicken shawarma, and of course, falafel.
- Yong — A fast-casual Korean eatery from Daniel Ajtai, a chef who’s spent time in the kitchens of Cottonwood and La Grange. According to Atjai, he’ll update some of his family’s recipes for the fast-casual environment, serving up dishes like double-fried chicken, Korean barbecue bowls, and his mom’s famous egg rolls.
- Sit Lo — A new spot for Vietnamese street food from the minds behind food truck Bowl’d Up. “Our goal with Sit Lo is to reintroduce Houston’s ‘Little Saigon’ food culture to the inner city,” said co-owner Adrienne Le in a statement. “We want to offer customers the experience of walking the streets of Vietnam and eating authentic Vietnamese fare.” Look forward to vermicelli bowls, pho, banh mi, and a secret menu of regional Vietnamese dishes.
- Craft Burger — Chopped winner and Craft Burger food truck owner Shannen Tune will bring his inventive burgers and sandwiches to the Hall, including the Morning After Burger, an egg-topped patty that’s served on a bacon-cheddar waffle bun.
The new additions bring the total number of restaurants planned for Finn Hall to ten. Outposts of Amaya Coffee, Goode Co. Taqueria, Mala Sichuan Bistro, and Dish Society have already been announced, along with Low Tide and pizza stall Mr. Nice Pie. There will also be a cocktail bar on the Hall’s mezzanine called Swallow’s Nest.
An official opening timeline for Finn Hall has not yet been announced. Stay tuned for more details on its arrival, still planned for “mid-2018.”
